Remaining free agents the Chicago Bulls could use to bolster the bench: Dwayne Bacon

If the Bulls want to take to the younger route to try and round out the bench (which could be beneficial for Karnisovas and Eversley over the long haul), then the likes of Ntilikina and the former Orlando Magic shooting guard/wing Dwayne Bacon are both good options. Ntilikina would add to an already pretty deep defensive backcourt unit for Chicago ahead of next season.

But Bacon would bring some much-needed offensive spark and general depth on the wing. The Bulls would have a very nice young wing/two-guard duo in the rotation between Bacon and the former Washington Wizards shooting guard/small forward Troy Brown Jr. if this free agent signing happened this summer.

Bacon was recently waived by the Magic, as that team is going through a lofty rebuild. That rebuild the Magic are taking on this year is largely thanks to some of the moves the Bulls made since the trade deadline. Namely, the trade that landed the Bulls star center Nikola Vucevic helped to vault the rebuild for the Magic this year.

Moreover, Bacon was waived by the Magic officially on Aug. 8. He’s now an unrestricted free agent, and could be a good value signing for the Bulls.

Last season, Bacon averaged a career-best 10.9 points per game, 3.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.1 blocks. Some of the signs of progress that Bacon showed last season could make giving him a shot worth it for Karnisovas and the Bulls on a short-term deal heading into the 2021-22 campaign.
