Remaining free agents the Chicago Bulls could use to bolster the bench: Bismack Biyombo

What could be a very solid veteran free agent target for the Bulls that could immediately fill a need in this frontcourt unit for Donovan is the former Charlotte Hornets center Bismack Biyombo. A veteran big man that could immediately help the Bulls in winning the battle on the boards, getting positioning in the paint, and protecting the rim, Biyombo is a target that fills a plethora of needs.

The Bulls did already sign an improving young big man to a minimum deal in Bradley. But Biyombo is a much more proven big man that could make a bigger positive impact down low right away for the Bulls. And given some of the defensive shortcomings of Vooch and some uncertainty surrounding the defensive ability of Simonovic, adding Biyombo makes a lot of sense.

By no means would Biyombo be a dynamic and switchable big man for Donovan and the Bulls, especially on the offensive end. But Biyombo is one of the more proven rebounders and rim protectors that exists in the NBA in this day and age. Biyombo has a career offensive rebounding percentage around 11, defensive rebounding percentage around 24, and a block percentage above five.

That type of steady production in a clear role in this frontcourt unit would make sense for both Biyombo at this point of his career, and the Bulls. If Biyombo is willing to take a deal that would pay him around the same average annual value ($3.5 million) as his last contract with the Hornets, then this could be a realistic signing for the Bulls.
