Who the Chicago Bulls could add that are solid fits with Nikola Vucevic: John Collins

Atlanta Hawks big man John Collins will be one of the most highly-sought after power forwards hitting the free agent market this summer. The problems for any team like the Bulls wanting to pursue him will be twofold. The first is that the price tag for Collins could wind up getting driven pretty far up. He will be one of the most valued free agents of the summer without a doubt.

The second problem for a team like the Bulls trying to pursue in the impending restricted free agent Collins is how hard it could be to pry him from the Hawks. Former Indiana Pacers head coach Nate McMillan and the Hawks made a really good run in the playoffs in the East this year, and they will likely want to run it back with another year with this group next season.

Collins was one of the most integral pieces of that elusive run for the Hawks all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals this year. He and star point guard Trae Young took this team further than most thought they could.

During the regular season, Collins was very solid for the Hawks too. He averaged 17.6 points per game, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.5 steals, and 1.0 blocks. And he shot an efficient 55.6 percent from the field, 39.9 percent from beyond the arc, and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Collins can do a little bit of everything for most any frontcourt unit in the NBA. He would obviously be an upgrade for the Bulls compared to what they could get from Green. It would just cost the Bulls all of the cap space they have available this summer, plus a good amount more, to get Collins to the Windy City.
