Who the Chicago Bulls could add that are solid fits with Nikola Vucevic: Paul Millsap

Two of my favorite potential free agent signings among big men for Karnisovas and the Bulls this summer would come from his previous employer. The Nuggets have a plethora of pieces that could be departing from the Mile High City as that front office tries to find the right fits to make it work around standout guard Jamal Murray and Jokic.

But the other of my favorite potential free agent big men signings for the Bulls this summer from the Nuggets is the veteran power forward Paul Millsap. Last season saw Millsap go through the final year of the massive contract he signed back in 2017, worth nearly $100 million in total. But the price tag for Millsap looks to be much lower this summer if the Nuggets let him walk.

And it appears that Millsap still has a lot of productivity left in his game, even at the age of 36. The Bulls would clearly get a lot older in their starting five if they signed the unrestricted free agent Millsap this offseason. That would also mean that they have all of the veteran leadership that they need for the rest of this younger rotation next season.

A solid 2020-21 regular season saw Millsap put up good numbers again, mostly in the starting unit in Denver. He averaged around nine points per game, five rebounds, two assists, one steal, and 0.5 blocks. And he shot 47 percent from the field, 35 percent from beyond the arc, and 72 percent from the free-throw line.

Millsap likely could come to the Bulls this summer at a price tag lower in the seven figures. That is something that Karnisovas could make work, despite some limited cap space.
