Chicago Bulls Former Players Competing for a Championship: Rajon Rondo, Los Angeles Clippers

Rajon Rondo makes this list start off with back-to-back guards that suited up for the Bulls in recent seasons. That is about where the similarities end for the two, though.

Rondo is a proven NBA Champion and won his second career ring last season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Now, the cross-city rivals to those Lakers are hopeful he is just what they were missing when they collapsed in last season’s playoffs.

Rondo was traded from the Hawks to the Clippers before the trade deadline. He brings a new dynamic to the Clippers and could be the perfect complement to players like Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

The point guard was a member of the Chicago Bulls during the 2016-17 season in which the Bulls disappointed around an odd core of Rondo, Jimmy Butler and Dwyane Wade. Rondo scored 7.8 points per game that season to go with 6.7 assists.

He has not found a consistent home since that season, though has found the success that was mentioned with the Lakers and will look to repeat that with the Clippers. In addition to the two Los Angeles teams and Atlanta Hawks, Rondo spent time with the New Orleans Pelicans following his Bulls stint.

Although Bulls fans may want to forget about the year Rondo spent with the Bulls it did happen and was a big moment at the end of an era in a sense. An era that never really got started, that is. Wade was always dreamed of joining the team and fans obviously envisioned it playing out differently.
