Although the FIBA World Cup has been a welcome distraction, the dog days of the NBA offseason will be coming to its welcome end soon enough. A month and a half removed from the start of the 2023-24 season, the Chicago Bulls will have a lot to prove if they want to keep this core together moving forward.

That all starts at NBA Training Camp, where the team will be shaking things up to hopefully achieve different results this time around. Whether or not this when the Bulls finally find their stride, or if it’s the beginning of the end, I suspect we’ll find our answers soon at training camp and during the preseason.

When does NBA training camp start?

For the first time in decades, the Bulls will be taking a trip offsite to focus on training camp. The team will be flying out to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee on Oct. 2 for five days of intense training. Expect to see new additions Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig vie for bigger roles up against returning key players Alex Caruso, Coby White, and Patrick Williams.

When do the Chicago Bulls conduct their media day?

The Chicago Bulls will host their media day on October 2 this year, after which point the team will head to Nashville for training camp. Media day will be our best opportunity to get some insight from the decision-makers in the front office before we finally see what this team is capable of on the court during preseason.

When does the Chicago Bulls preseason begin?

The NBA preseason is set to officially kick off on October 5, but the Bulls won’t take the court until they head to Milwaukee on October 8. Here are the times, dates, and information you need to know for Chicago’s five-game preseason slate this year.

  • Bulls @ Bucks on Oct. 8 at 12:00 p.m. CT
  • Bulls vs. Nuggets on Oct. 12 at 7:00 p.m. CT
  • Bulls @ Nuggets on Oct. 15 at 8:00 p.m. CT
  • Bulls vs. Raptors on. Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. CT
  • Bulls vs. Timberwolves on Oct. 19 at 7:00 p.m. CT

As you can see, Chicago has some particularly difficult competitors lined up. Four of these five games will come against teams that have won championships in the last four years between the Bucks, Nuggets, and Raptors, while the Timberwolves field their own trio of All-Star caliber players led by one of the NBA’s most promising young stars in Anthony Edwards.

When must the Chicago Bulls finalize their roster for the 2023-24 season?

Rosters for the 2023-24 become official on October 23 at 4 p.m. CT. Chicago currently has a fully-stocked roster with 15 players signed to the main roster and 3 players on two-way contracts. However, the contracts of Carlik Jones and Terry Taylor don’t become guaranteed until the season begins, which means the Bulls will have just a little over a month to finish tinkering and making any changes to the roster this offseason.
