Chicago Bulls Rotation Adjustment: Denzel Valentine dropped from the rotation
Billy Donovan has toyed with this one in recent games but more recently went back to Valentine, though in a limited number of minutes. Valentine is not necessarily at fault for this move as it is really just a product of the roster.
Some fans have grown frustrated with the former first-round pick but the truth is he is more than capable of being a good role player in the right situation. Unfortunately, that situation is not on this Bulls team as they get more and more desperate to win games.
Valentine can get going offensively and really help score when he is on. The Bulls need a lot of things, but someone prone to get trigger happy offensively that isn’t consistent is not one of those things.

Far too often he plays a part in taking the team out of rhythm and what he does on the other end of the floor isn’t making up for his offense. That would be true if the Bulls were solid defensively, it is especially true given their lack of defensive options.
Anyone who runs the risk that Valentine does of slowing the offense down and is a net loss for the team on the defensive end simply can not be a part of the team’s rotation night in and night out. A commitment to players who will help on defense, no matter who they are, would be much more valuable than what Valentine brings to the team.
Who could bring that defensive mentality? A veteran that is sitting on the bench early and often in his Chicago Bulls tenure might be the man for the job.
