Kentucky guard Malik Monk

Worry not if Rajon Rondo will be leaving after a year. Whether he guns for the fat contract or if he has a falling out with coach Fred Hoiberg there is a fantastic guard prospect for Kentucky on their roster who may be a one-and-done player come June.

The Sacramento pick may be free next year, given that the Kings have a new coach and really exciting bigs to hang around DeMarcus Cousins this season.

If the Kings pick drops to the 11-14 range, the Bulls might want a look at Monk, who is a freak athlete, with high upside, and a player who can have an immediate impact on the game.

His draft stock may rise over the course of the season and he may be out of reach of the Bulls, but he can still be a legit draft target if Forman wants to trade both of the Bulls’ potential two first-rounders for a chance to get the high-scoring point guard of the future. His game will be sick for a pace-and-space system like Hoiball.

Monk would be an upgrade over Isaiah Canaan and can also be groomed to be part of an explosive starting unit. He can be Jerian Grant’s understudy or start if his game is as dominating as you see from the video above after a year playing for an NBA-styled college team.
