Shaquille O’Neal rubbed Chicago Bulls fans the wrong way earlier this summer with his Instagram war against former Bulls great Scottie Pippen. Now, he’s got a take that Bulls fans would want to hear on the whole Michael Jordan–LeBron James debate.
There’s no questioning the fact that LeBron James will go down as the greatest player of this current era, and will go down as one of the greatest players in NBA history.

The same can be said for Michael Jordan; the greatest player of his era, along with being the greatest basketball player of all-time.
With all of that said, the hot debate has been, who would win a one-on-one meeting between Jordan and James? Jordan answered the question by saying, “no question” that he would beat James if he was in his prime.
When LeBron was asked the same question, he of course, picked himself to come out on top.
Now, we have another opinion on the subject: Shaquille O’Neal.
"“It would be an interesting game,” said O’Neal. “Young LeBron was more like (Lakers Hall of Famer) Magic Johnson. He was sort of like Magic with Jordan’s abilities. He liked to pass, and he liked to get it up.“But Mike was Mike. He was just special, like no one else. He always did things no one else could do, and things you couldn’t compare to anyone else. So he was special, and he’d win.”(Yahoo! Sports via Agence France Presse)"
That’s the right answer, Shaq.
The dream game between the two greatest players of their era is just that — a dream — but, to see Michael Jordan and LeBron James face off against one another would be amazing. Jordan was unique; he had the ability to score, along with hitting difficult shots, pass, and guard anyone put in front of him. His drive to succeed was unlike any other. James is the most unique player in this era because of his size, speed and athleticism. He’s a 6-foot-8, 240-pound freight train.
After the infamous Shaq-Pippen Instagram battle from earlier this summer, of course we’re going to hear about O’Neal’s opinion on matters that really have nothing to do with him.
Shaq also went on to say that Julius Erving, not Michael Jordan (or LeBron) is the “GOAT” (greatest of all-time). We can only take so many takes in one day, Shaq. Slow down a bit and let us all catch up to you.
Debates like these are for people to dive into the comments sections all over the web and attempt to get the last say a la Ronda Rousey against Bethe Correia earlier this month. Good luck and happy debating.
