Jonas Valanciunas (unrestricted free agent)
Valanciunas is still a very good player, a double-double machine who is not a great drop defender but can spread the floor a little with shooting. Sound familiar?
He’s very similar to Nikola Vucevic, so Valanciunas only makes sense for the Bulls if they were able to trade Vucevic and maybe not even then, as he has some of the same shortcomings.
But Valanciunas can likely be had for the mid-level exception, which would make him a cheaper option. He and DeRozan have played over 400 games together and were very successful as teammates, so a reunion is not out of the question, especially if the Bulls move Vucevic and find a backup who can block shots.
