The Chicago Bulls wrap up their four-game road trip with a matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers. After dropping their first two road games, the Bulls pulled off a thrilling 130–127 victory over the Denver Nuggets, despite missing several key contributors.
Chicago enters game with minimal injury concerns
Reserve big man Zach Collins missed his 13th game of the season while recovering from a wrist fracture. Coby White, meanwhile, sat out his 12th game for injury management after being held out for the first 11 contests of the 2025–26 campaign with a calf strain. Collins will remain sidelined against Portland, but White is expected to make his second appearance of the season—likely in a reserve role with a limited-minute restriction.
Moreover, fellow guard Tre Jones missed his second game of the season against Denver with a left ankle impingement. He was listed as questionable following the Bulls’ 124–113 loss to the Detroit Pistons and has since been ruled out twice. However, the injury doesn’t appear serious, making it possible the 6-foot-1 guard could suit up against the Trail Blazers.
Blazers dealing with a packed injury report
On the other hand, the Trail Blazers are riddled with injuries. Six players have already been ruled out. Damian Lillard is a permanent fixture on that list this season as he recovers from an Achilles tear, and Scoot Henderson, Matisse Thybulle, and Blake Wesley are also dealing with long-term injuries.
Henderson suffered a torn hamstring before the start of training camp and was originally given a six-to-eight-week recovery timeline. However, the latest update on the former No. 3 overall pick indicates he remains week-to-week with no imminent return in sight.
Aside from Henderson, offseason acquisition and fellow point guard Jrue Holiday will miss his third straight game with a calf strain. And it only gets worse for the Blazers. Shaedon Sharpe, the team’s second-leading scorer, is listed as doubtful with a calf issue—though in his case it’s being labeled as soreness rather than a strain. As a result, Portland will likely lean heavily on several young players, including undrafted rookie Caleb Love, who is coming off a career-high 17 points against the Phoenix Suns.
