The Bulls’ Las Vegas Summer League roster is set and could steal the show

Headlined by Caleb Wilson, the Bulls’ summer league roster should be a marquee attraction in Las Vegas.

The Chicago Bulls made their 2026 Las Vegas Summer League roster official on Friday.

Looking at the principal core of the roster, which begins with Bulls lead front office executive Bryson Graham’s first crop of NBA Draft selections in rookie forward Caleb Wilson and rookie forward Dailyn Swain, Bulls fans should be filled to the brim with anticipation to see both rookies get their first taste of NBA action in Las Vegas.

The last NBA Draft selection by Graham’s predecessor, forward Noa Essengue, figures to play a prominent role in the Bulls’ 2026 summer league roster.  This trio alone should be appointment viewing for Bulls and NBA fans alike when they take the floor in the Bulls' Las Vegas Summer League games.

Looking beyond the summer league headliners

Factoring in the newly announced two-way contract tier of the Bulls' main roster, undrafted rookie forward Tobe Awaka, and undrafted guard Jaylin Sellers, should play a prominent role in the Bulls’ 2026 summer league games.

Both two-contract signings are niche skill players in that Awaka is an offensive rebounding savant, finishing his final NCAA men’s basketball season for the Arizona Wildcats, averaging 3.5 offensive rebounds per game, according to Sports Reference.

Meanwhile, Sellers is a prolific scoring guard in an era of the NBA that frankly frowns upon one-dimensional score-first guards.  Sellers averaged 13.5 points per game for his entire NCAA men’s basketball career, in addition to averaging a career 39.2% three-point shooting percentage on 4.1 career three-point attempts per game.

2026 Las Vegas Summer League represents the starting point of a long journey for both Awaka and Sellers to demonstrate they can grow into well-rounded NBA players who can impact the game with more than one skill.

It wouldn’t be a Chicago Bulls summer league roster without at least one player with a local connection, and this time that player is former Northwestern Wildcats standout guard Boo Buie.

In five NCAA men’s basketball seasons playing for the Wildcats, Buie’s senior season was a legendary performance for the program as he finished in the top-20 of all Big-Ten conference men's basketball players in total points scored (17) with 2,187 points scored, according to Sports Reference.

Buie went undrafted after the 2024 NBA draft and started his professional basketball career with the Westchester Knicks, NBA G-League affiliate of the New York Knicks, during the 2024-25 NBA G League season, and moved on to play for the Mexico City Capitanes during the 2025-26 NBA G League season.

Tiago Splitter’s debut can’t wait for October

Also noteworthy in the 2026 edition of the Bulls' summer league roster is the confirmation that Bulls head coach Tiago Splitter will also serve as the head coach of the Bulls’ summer league roster.

Typically, an NBA franchise’s summer league head coach will be an assistant coach or the head coach of the franchise’s NBA G-League affiliate.  Splitter’s desire to coach in Las Vegas is an early testament to his commitment to player development.
