2. Alex Caruso
Losing Alex Caruso in a potential Young trade would be far from ideal, as Caruso is a core piece to the Bulls’ aforementioned elite defense. However, due to a lack of really any assets, the Bulls may be forced to include him in a deal.
Most of the players who would be in a potential Young deal are set to be free agents this offseason, which could make a trade difficult to put together unless they do a sign-and-trade like with Dosunmu.
Regardless, if the Bulls look to pull off a trade surrounding what they already have on the roster, Caruso may be one of the first to go. While the Bulls would still have a good defensive unit even without Caruso, losing him would hurt a lot. Bringing back Patrick Beverly could help lessen this loss, but it still wouldn’t be the same without Caruso on the team.
There are many ways in which the Bulls could help solve their defensive loss of Caruso. However, adding an offensive monster like Young may be worth the loss. Especially with the aforementioned mediocre offense from a statistical standpoint.
