Bulls Rumors: Landing Harrison Barnes could get done without giving up Patrick Williams… maybe

The one potential trade target on this list that I could personally see Karnisovas and the Bulls bringing to Chicago at the deadline without giving up Williams is the Sacramento Kings veteran standout forward Harrison Barnes. This former North Carolina Tar Heel and 2015 NBA Champion would definitely help the Bulls out right away.

But if the Bulls managed to get a deal done with the Kings to nab Barnes, without giving up Williams, it would take a lot of other pieces to move things along.

The Kings would likely still want the negotiations for Barnes in any trade deadline deal to start with younger Bulls players such as Williams and point guard Coby White. And that is where we start with this hypothetical trade deal.

There really are a number of ways that the Bulls could go with the Kings to nab Barnes. One option that I would be a fan of would be including a big man such as Marvin Bagley or Richaun Holmes in any trade package that comes to Chicago.

Yet, the more likely scenario, if this trade were to get done at the deadline, would be the Bulls giving up both Williams and White. In this hypothetical trade deal, the Bulls give up Williams, White, and forward Derrick Jones Jr., for a handsome return from the Kings.

What the Kings send back to the Bulls is a package of Barnes, shooting guard Terence Davis, and two future second-round draft picks. It’s really hard to see the Bulls wanting to get this deal done without a lower first-round draft pick or some seconds, at the very least.
