Chicago Bulls: 2 studs, 1 dud from rebound win over Magic
Chicago Bulls studs from revenge win over the Magic: DeMar DeRozan
A regular on the list of studs of late for the Bulls amid this building winning streak, the now five-time All-Star forward and two-time All-NBA Team selection DeMar DeRozan is on a roll for this team in the last few weeks. DeRozan is getting this Bulls team back on track in the Eastern Conference standings, now back in first place atop the likes of the Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Milwaukee Bucks.
DeRozan just had his 10th game in a row with at least 20 points. This was also the fifth double-double of the season for DeRozan. He was able to do all of this while DeRozan had a very efficient night for the Bulls on both ends of the floor. This version of DeRozan is one that will make the Bulls very difficult to beat in the second half of the season.
In this win over the Magic, DeRozan gave the Bulls a game-high 29 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field, an efficient 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 3-of-4 from the free-throw line. Any time DeRozan hits two of his three attempts from downtown, he’s likely going to have an efficient shooting night altogether.
Moreover, DeRozan also came up with 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block, and just one turnover. The 10 rebounds got DeRozan the double-double on this night. And giving the Bulls two steals and one block is just an added bonus from DeRozan on the defensive end.
DeRozan was also a game-high +15 on the floor for the Bulls in this win. This was a big night for him through and through in proving why he is a deserving All-Star starter and holding true as an MVP contender heading into the stretch run of the regular season.
