The Chicago Bulls and second-year head coach Billy Donovan will be looking to extend their two-game winning streak to three on the night of Jan. 28, when the team faces the San Antonio Spurs and legendary head coach Gregg Popovich on the road. This will also be the final road game of the month for the Bulls.

Donovan and the Bulls are coming off another gritty win, which came over the Toronto Raptors at home at the United Center on Jan. 26. The Bulls got that win over the Raptors by the final score of 111-105 as they staved off a big second-half rally by head coach Nick Nurse and his squad.

Meanwhile, the Spurs come into this game sporting a record of 18-31 following a Jan. 26 loss at home to the Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs have lost three of their last four games heading into this matchup against the Bulls.

Here’s a look into the betting odds and game prediction as the Bulls get set to take on the Spurs on the road at AT&T Center in San Antonio on Jan. 28, with tip-off time set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Chicago Bulls vs. San Antonio Spurs prediction

There’s not really a whole lot of new injury news to present for either the Bulls or Spurs ahead of this game heading into the weekend. According to the latest NBA injury report, though, on Jan. 28, the Bulls are still set to miss the likes of point guard Lonzo Ball, point guard Alex Caruso, and forward Derrick Jones Jr., among a couple of others, for this game.

Moreover, the Spurs are still set to be missing the likes of power forward Zach Collins, forward Keita Bates-Diop, and rookie Joshua Primo against the Bulls. But the Spurs are nearly the healthiest they’ve been all season long ahead of this meeting with the Bulls.

In their Jan. 26 win over the Raptors, the Bulls largely relied on the likes of star forward DeMar DeRozan and center Nikola Vucevic to get them over the hump. DeRozan had a solid game with 29 points to continue his hot streak. And Vucevic had an efficient night in the win over the Raptors where he had the dagger three-pointer in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter.

This will also be the first time that DeRozan returns to San Antonio to face his former team. DeRozan spent the last three seasons in San Antonio before the Bulls landed him in a sign-and-trade deal last offseason.

If the Bulls get the type of production they got out of DeRozan and Vucevic against the Spurs that they did in the win over the Raptors, this team will be in a good spot heading into the weekend. It is obviously also important for the Bulls to get a solid outing from star shooting guard Zach LaVine.

LaVine looked good for the Bulls in his two games back since returning from a knee injury. He’s registered 23 points on solid overall stat lines in each of the last two games.

Not only will the Bulls need a big night from the duo of Vucevic and DeRozan, but they also need to do their best to limit the likes of standout point guard Dejounte Murray, guard Derrick White, and forward Keldon Johnson. This is another winnable game for the Bulls, but it won’t come easy against a healthy Spurs team.

Final score prediction: Bulls-102, Spurs-99
