Knicks possible trade targets to watch for the Chicago Bulls: Mitchell Robinson

One of the bigger potential trade targets among all of the big-name young players around the NBA this season could be the Knicks standout center and former Western Kentucky Hilltopper Mitchell Robinson. The 2018-19 All-Rookie Team selection didn’t have his best season with the Knicks either during the 2020-21 campaign.

This could be an opportunity for a team like the Bulls to add depth in the frontcourt unit to buy-low on a player that could add a special paint presence like Robinson. This would have to be a situation where Donovan and the Bulls are wanting to play Robinson in a reserve role, but still giving him significant minutes off the bench.

It could ensure that the Bulls’ have one of the more dominant second units that has a real anchor in it with Robinson. But trading for Robinson would likely be a move where the Bulls are ensuring they are going all-in for star shooting guard Zach LaVine this season. Seeing a scenario where the Bulls would want to re-up Robinson after next season is difficult.

Most basketball fans know what Robinson brings to the table as an elite rebounder, rim protector, and finisher around the rim on offense. The Bulls obviously don’t have someone on the roster right now that brings a presence down low as Robinson does. That could help the Bulls in certain situations when they need help on defense and on the glass in the postseason.

Like I said before, the Bulls trading for Robinson would be to go all-in on this season and try to satisfy LaVine on some winning efforts in Chicago.
