Chicago Bulls: 3 best shooters remaining in free agency
Best shooters for Chicago Bulls to target in free agency: Paul Watson
A name that is definitely falling under-the-radar this offseason that could be a nice knockdown wing shooter for the Bulls is the former Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks 26-year-old small forward Paul Watson. As one of two former undrafted free agents on this list, Watson could be a really nice find in free agency for the Bulls that costs Karnisovas and Eversley next to nothing.
It was difficult to pick between two very solid wing shooters to start off this list. Watson was the ultimate choice, but the former Orlando Magic veteran forward James Ennis III is also a really good shooter of late (shot better than 43 percent from beyond the arc last season).
The Bulls would do well to add either Watson or Ennis III to start rounding out the bench for the remainder of the offseason. In terms of pure shooting numbers and fundamental shooting stroke, though, Watson gets the edge.
Watson shot an insane 47 percent from beyond the arc last season. And that wasn’t due to a lack of attempts. He had 64 total attempts from beyond the arc last season, making 60 of them. He’s also really started to find his rhythm shooting from downtown in the past two seasons.
Watson converted on four of his nine attempts from beyond the arc to round out the 2019-20 regular season with the Raptors.
A large portion of the field goal attempts that Watson took last season came from downtown. He had a career-high .780 three-point attempt rate last season. If the Bulls could get a knockdown wing shooter like that out of Watson, for what would definitely be a minimum contract, it could provide a lot of value.
