Stars that benefit most from playing with Chicago Bulls star Zach LaVine: Jerami Grant

One of the likelier stars around the NBA landscape to be on the move this summer is the Detroit Pistons breakthrough 6-foot-8 and 210-pound 27-year-old forward Jerami Grant. The former Denver Nugget had his real breakout for the Pistons in his inaugural season in the Motor City. Grant’s stellar efforts with the faltering Pistons during the regular season even earned him a spot with LaVine on the United States Olympic team this summer.

While this isn’t necessarily a list of the most likely stars for the Bulls to wind up with this summer, Grant is one that could be on the move if the Pistons feel the return is right. It’s hard to tell if the Bulls have the resources to get Grant from the Pistons, but it would be a tremendous boost to their starting five if they could.

What would benefit Grant individually from playing alongside the likes of LaVine and Vooch with the Bulls is the nature of how this trio of skill sets fit together. Grant is a better defender than LaVine and Vooch, but he doesn’t have two other stars that can space the floor for him on the offensive end like they could.

Grant would be a nice addition that would bring a stellar defensive and rebounding presence to the table along with fellow forward and rookie Patrick Williams. The idea of a defensive pairing featuring Grant and Williams is very appealing.

Moreover, adding Grant to the mix could really open up the Bulls’ title contention window for a couple more years. It would also entice LaVine to go an extra step further to do whatever he can to sign a contract extension that could be more team-friendly in Chicago.
