The idea of the Chicago Bulls using their star shooting guard Zach LaVine to recruit some of the top players on the United States squad for the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, this year sounds great. But recruiting Olympic teammates can be a process that takes years to actually play out.

And that will not be the immediate focus for a rising potential superstar like LaVine that is taking part in his first Summer Olympics with the United States. Obviously, the focus first and foremost for LaVine will be helping the United States claim a gold medal once again in the Summer Olympics.

Despite some high-profile opt-outs for the United States in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, this team still has a lot of superstars lining the roster. Some of the biggest names on the team include the Brooklyn Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker, and Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal, among others.

It would be nice to see the United States have the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers superstar forward LeBron James, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, Nets guard James Harden, etc., play for the team. But some of those opt-outs cleared the necessary path for LaVine to represent his country in the Summer Olympics.

Granted, there should still be some type of emphasis placed on the ability of LaVine to form the type of camaraderie necessary to get some stars to want to join him with the Bulls. LaVine is about to come under contract talks for an extension potentially this summer, and this is something to consider moving forward.

With that in mind, here’s a look into three Olympic teammates with the United States that LaVine should recruit to the Bulls.
