Chicago Bulls: 3 veterans to trade Thaddeus Young for
If there is to be something in the works for the Chicago Bulls to dish out the veteran forward Thaddeus Young this summer, it must be for the right return. The Bulls don’t have all that many trade assets to work with at this point, between any future draft capital and players with valuable contracts.
Most of what the Bulls could bring to the table this offseason in any trade discussion are pieces like combo guard Tomas Satoransky, Young, second-year point guard Coby White, and someone like power forward Lauri Markkanen in a sign-and-trade. That doesn’t give the Bulls’ front office much bargaining power, but that was to be anticipated if they missed out on the draft lottery with the top-four protection and with the trade to get star center Nikola Vucevic from the Orlando Magic.

There’s also not all that much cap space that the Bulls have to work with either. The Bulls aren’t the most cap-strapped team in the league this summer, but they don’t have a ton of wiggle room to fill any positional needs entering next season.
Two of the main goals at hand for executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley this summer are to find a point guard of the future and one more piece for the starting five. The Bulls have three spots likely solidified in the starting five between star shooting guard Zach LaVine, Vooch, and rookie forward Patrick Williams.
But figuring out what they could get beyond those three pieces will be the creative process that Karnisovas and Eversley have to take to this summer. With that in mind, here’s a look into three veterans that the Bulls could trade for in return for Young this offseason.
