Chicago Bulls undetected options for point guard help: Trade the Cavs for Collin Sexton

The one option on this list that involves the Bulls pulling off a trade this summer sees them get the former Alabama Crimson Tide point guard and Cleveland Cavalier Collin Sexton. A true emerging quality starting point guard is something that would usually be costly for the Bulls to acquire, but landing Sexton might be somewhat of an exception.

It’s hard to tell how much the Cavs value Sexton in trade talks at the moment. They’ve parted ways with more valuable pieces for cheap in recent years. And since they are fully in rebuilding mode still this year, Sexton might be more expendable.

There could be a move in the Cavs’ future where they try to trade either of their top two point guards, Sexton or Darius Garland. When the Cavs selected Garland in the top five of the 2019 NBA Draft, it confused a lot of basketball fans since they already had what seemed like their point guard of the future in Sexton.

And while the pairing of Sexton and Garland improved this season than the year before, they still have a long way to go.

All of this is really speculation since there’s a lack of clarity as to how the Cavs plan to continue this rebuild. But a Sexton trade should certainly be on the list of possibilities for the Bulls’ front office this summer. He could be an immediate boost at the one for this Bulls starting five.
