Most of the options that look to be on the table for the Chicago Bulls this offseason in terms of finding a solution to their point guard problem considers free agency as the initial route forward. And that makes sense given the Bulls’ lack of an ability to make another big splash trade this offseason, limited cap freedom, and shallow amount of draft capital to work with this summer.

A lot of the options that seem to be on the table that are often mentioned for the Bulls are signing the New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball, signing Los Angeles Lakers point guard Dennis Schroder, or hoping a trade works out for a star like Ben Simmons or Damian Lillard. All of those options are all and good, but they’re also ones that other teams are considering too in all likelihood.

Quiet but effective point guard solutions for the Chicago Bulls this summer

Not only that, but the Bulls are going to have a hard time putting together the right trade package to be able to land a true star point guard like Simmons or Lillard. The Bulls would have to mortgage what’s left of their future in the off chance that they could actually outbid another suitor for those star point guards.

It is a nice thought, but maybe one of the least likely scenarios that could play out for the Bulls this summer.

A more likely scenario for the Bulls would be signing a free agent target like Lonzo or Schroder, or finding another underrated option to work with heading into next season. There are always going to be other developing scenarios for the Bulls to consider.

Here’s a look at some scenarios that could play out for the Bulls to find their next starting point guard this summer.
