Especially knowing that they won’t have a spot in the NBA Draft Lottery this year, the Chicago Bulls have to place a very large emphasis on finding their way to a point guard solution by way of free agency or a trade. And the good news for the Bulls in that regard is that they will have plenty of options that look to be available on the point guard market this summer.

There was already one marquee trade deal that went down this summer involving a high-profile point guard. That saw the Boston Celtics send the former Charlotte Hornets veteran star point guard Kemba Walker to the Oklahoma City Thunder in a multi-player and pick swap last week that rocked the NBA landscape.

But it was the Thunder stacking up more draft picks and taking on the large contract of Kemba from the Celtics that could’ve set the tone for the point guard market this summer. The Bulls might be able to get in on this trend where you can take on the large contract of a point guard that didn’t have the best season but could fill a need heading into next season, along with getting some future draft capital.

Chicago Bulls would have a difficult path to trade for Ben Simmons

A name that comes to mind in that discussion concerning the Bulls point guard need is the Philadelphia 76ers three-time All-Star floor general Ben Simmons. If the Bulls front office does find the right deal for Simmons, what could that entail?

That will largely hinge on how Daryl Morey and the Sixers front office value Simmons’ presence, and namely his large contract, on their books moving forward. Nonetheless, here’s a look into three trades with some complexity to them for the Bulls to nab Simmons.
