In a time where the Chicago Bulls are now less than one month from the night of the 2021 NBA Draft, the process of configuring the big board for this front office/scouting department looks to be playing out. The Bulls have worked out and interviewed a good number of prospects within the past week and a half.
And one of the newer additions to the list of the prospects that the Bulls have worked out in the past week or so is the former Texas Tech Red Raiders star sophomore shooting guard/wing Terrence Shannon. This is one of the more significant two-guards/wings that the Bulls have worked out since the week of the 2021 NBA Draft Combine.
Shannon could be a nice fit in the Bulls rotation and could add to their young wing depth in the mix now. The Bulls also have the former Washington Wizards shooting guard/small forward Troy Brown Jr. to help round out the wing rotation heading into next season.
Terrence Shannon joins list of prospects that worked out for the Chicago Bulls
Currently projected to fall as early as a late first-round draft pick, or as late as a mid-second-round pick, Shannon could be a nice find for the Bulls with their lone selection next month. The 6-foot-6 and 210-pound Chicago, IL, native and Lincoln Park High School product would also be returning to his hometown if the Bulls drafted him.
According to the NBA Combine data, Shannon measured in with around a 6-foot-8.5 wingspan, 8-foot-4 standing reach, 40-inch vertical leap, 11.5 second lane shuttle agility time, and 3.12-second shuttle time.
That’s pretty solid for a player that still has a lot of growth in his game. Shannon did show a lot of progressions, though, during his sophomore campaign at Texas Tech. The 2020-21 All-Big 12 Third-Team selection and former Big 12 All-Freshman Team honoree was solid for the Red Raiders last season.
He averaged 12.9 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.1 blocks. And he shot 44.8 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.6 percent from the free-throw line.
The night of the 2021 NBA Draft is set to take place on July 29. The Bulls will only hold the 38th overall pick in the second round of the 2021 draft since they missed out on the lottery with their top-four protection.
