The Chicago Bulls can learn something from each of the remaining NBA Playoff teams. In fact, they may have targets from each of the Conference Finalists.
With that being said, the Bulls could learn more from the Phoenix Suns than just about anyone in the NBA right now. This as the Suns look to make a run at the NBA Championship. If you told anyone that at the end of last season they would have laughed you out the door.
Chicago Bulls Can Learn a lot from the Phoenix Suns
The Bulls have some similarities to the Suns before this past offseason got underway. First is their number one player is a dominant scoring guard that can catch fire in an instant.
Devin Booker‘s game is different than Zach LaVine‘s but in terms of being electric scorers, they are similar. They both also play with a very talented and valuable center, though that is where similarities between DeAndre Ayton and Nikola Vucevic end.
So what exactly could the Bulls learn from the Suns’ recent success? It’s actually quite simple. The importance of a floor general.
The Bulls aren’t getting a Chris Paul-level point guard. Few teams can at any given time and the Suns capitalized on what turned out to be a confused market for the second year in a row regarding CP3.
The Bulls don’t need to add a future Hall of Famer necessarily, but they need a guard who can control the tempo and put his teammates in the right spots. Not only does it help the team in general but it also helps LaVine ease some of his playmaking duties.
The Suns have a strong template going for teams to copy. It isn’t easy already having an elite scorer in place at the shooting guard spot.
