Hitting the trade block will certainly be a possibility for the Chicago Bulls this summer to build out this roster heading into next season. The Bulls front office has a plethora of key decisions to make this offseason, including what to do with impending free agents, finding a solution to the point guard problem, and building a strong supporting cast around their emerging core trio.

This core trio now emphasizes building around star shooting guard Zach LaVine, center Nikola Vucevic, and rookie forward Patrick Williams. With the Bulls now boasting a legit star duo in LaVine and Vooch, and an emerging two-way stud in Williams.

Options for the Chicago Bulls to build out the roster this summer on the trade block or free agency?

But that won’t be enough for the Bulls to legitimately contend in the Eastern Conference for the next few years. That core might be able to get them in position to be a consistent six, seven, or eight seed in the East, but it won’t get them to that next level that the franchise wants.

Building out the appropriate supporting cast is how the Bulls can start to reach new heights. That will encompass adding depth to the bench for head coach Billy Donovan and finding that aforementioned solution for the long haul at the point.

The Bulls do have a few sources they could turn to for help to continue building out this roster this summer. Turning to a team that could have some key pieces on the move is a good option that we’ve talked about before that could benefit the Bulls.

Just like with the Portland Trail Blazers, Boston Celtics, and New York Knicks, there could be some interesting pieces that the Bulls could look into from the Los Angeles Lakers.

And given the Lakers early exit in the playoffs this year, some of their players that could be on the move this summer could come at a tremendous value for a team like the Bulls. Here’s a look at two players that Arturas Karnisovas could steal away from the Lakers for the Bulls this summer.
