NBA Mock Draft 1.0
The Warriors pick at number seven thanks to the trade that sent D’Angelo Russell to the Timberwolves. The trade can now be confirmed as a massive win for the franchise as they can add an impact player that is NBA-ready in Davion Mitchell.
The Warriors need a backcourt option behind Steph Curry and Mitchell can be that from day one. He can also play alongside him and is a standout defender, something the Warriors will value greatly this offseason. Mitchell instantly becomes a rotational piece for the Warriors.
The Magic are back on the clock thanks to the pick owed to them from the Chicago Bulls and they get one of the best scorers in the draft to join their defensive-minded pick of Kuminga at number five.
Bouknight is almost the perfect fit for the Magic due to their need to add a shooting guard. Not only that, but the bulk of their best players are defensive first guys right now and Couknight joins a suddenly fun backcourt with Cole Anthony and Markelle Fultz.
Bouknight averaged 18.7 points per game last year at UConn while shooting an efficient 52.8 percent from the field.
