Some of the early news during the week of the lottery and the 2021 NBA Draft Combine saw the Chicago Bulls workout another prospect they could look into taking with the 38th overall pick in the second round. We got to hear earlier in the week that the Bulls had a workout scheduled with the former St. John’s forward Julian Champagnie, and now there could be even more clarity shaking out for this team’s big board for the 2021 NBA Draft.

The Bulls have reportedly worked out the former Alabama Crimson Tide 6-foot-6 and 190-pound, and the former four-star recruit, Josh Primo. As someone that could fill a void in terms of the Bulls’ depth in the backcourt rotation, Primo is an interesting name to see surface on the Bulls’ radar.

This Canadian shooting guard spent just one season at Alabama, playing in 30 games during his true freshman campaign. And he garnered All-SEC Freshman Team honors in the process.

Primo has also reportedly only worked out for the Bulls, which is a good indicator for the level of interest for which this front office and scouting department have in getting to know him and his game further.

Chicago Bulls were the lone team this week to workout Josh Primo

But Primo has also apparently spoke to a double-digit number of other teams as he’s going through this draft scouting process.

Some of the college stats and physical tools that Primo brings to the table makes him an appealing draft prospect for the Bulls’ 38th spot in the second round. He has a solid vertical leap that was previously recorded around 38 inches and a lengthy 6-foot-11 wingspan.

During his freshman season at Alabama, Primo averaged 8.1 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.3 blocks. And he shot 43.1 percent from the field, 38.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 75.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on July 29, and the lone pick that the Bulls have is in the 38 slot in the second round. They missed out on the lottery this year with their first-round draft pick sticking with the Orlando Magic.
