Teams that could Trade for Chicago Bulls Forward Thaddeus Young: Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz saw their season end in disappointing fashion after they worked all year to earn the number one seed in the Western Conference playoffs. That hard work ultimately led to disappointment as they failed to make the Western Conference finals.
Now they enter the offseason searching for reasonable upgrades while knowing how close they were to making a finals run. One way to upgrade their roster is searching the trade market, and the Bulls may have just what they are looking for in forward Thaddeus Young.
Young proved he can be a playmaker from the forward spot this past season, ultimately finishing the year with a career-high in assists per game (4.3). That versatility and willingness to set up others fits in perfectly with what the Jazz do on the court.
In addition to how he fits their style of play he also fills what could become a hole on their roster this offseason. Point guard Mike Conley is set to be a free agent and it’s unknown if he will be returning to the team or what it will cost to bring him back.
If the Jazz don’t re-sign him, Young becomes that much more of a fit. They also have forward Georges Niang, who played in all 72 regular-season games during the 2020-21 NBA season, set to hit the free-agent market.
It makes sense for the Jazz to value a player like Young this offseason, with or without Conley returning to the team. He could be just what they need to continue building and taking steps forward.
