Chicago Bulls: 5 free agents that must be avoided this offseason
Chicago Bulls free agents they must avoid this summer: Kyle Lowry
Last but certainly not least is Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors. He is the oldest player on the list at 35 years old. Somehow he is still playing at a very high level and could be one of the biggest additions in the league for the right team in free agency.

That team is not the Chicago Bulls, though. First is his age and the fact that he would take up all of the Bulls cap space and then some. A multi-year deal is likely going to be desired by him and that just makes the Bulls even less of a fit.
Remember that timeline with LaVine. Although Lowry would make them a fair amount better for at least one season, how long before the contract he signs becomes undesirable? Is it a risk worth taking for the Bulls? Absolutely not.
Even for a younger player, the Bulls should avoid overspending on one guy. Someone that is aging and has played a lot of minutes over a lot of years just leaves more unknowns. Chicago would have to make themselves tight on money and still find a way to fill the holes left.
Even if they somehow could pull it off, what happens if Lowry misses time? Or even Vooch or LaVine? No depth would be left behind the two current Bulls and the 35-year-old Lowry.
For someone to play in front of White on a short-term deal the Bulls need to target defense and playmaking. Like Conley and Dinwiddie before him, Lowry just doesn’t check the right boxes and would leave the Bulls at best a good but not great team.
