It’s really a shame that the play of the veteran 6-foot-7 and 210 pound 29-year-old combo guard Tomas Satoransky didn’t keep up his hot play since getting moved into the starting five over Coby. The former Wizard Sato does look to be a better fit in the Bulls starting five than White was at the one. But he still hasn’t been as effective as many thought a couple of weeks ago.

In the Bulls’ loss to the Hawks on April 9, Sato put up a goose egg in the scoring column for the first time in any start in his career. And he followed that up with a rather lackluster performance in the Bulls’ April 11 loss to the last-place Timberwolves. That was all capped with an up and down showing in the loss to the Grizzlies on April 12.

Sato registered just two points on 1-of-5 shooting from the field, 0-of-1 from beyond the arc, and he had no attempt from the free-throw line. That went along with just one rebound, two assists, one steal, no blocks, and three turnovers. It was one of the worst showings of the season all-around to date for Sato.

It’s hard for Donovan and the Bulls to figure out an answer at the one in the starting five right now. Staying patient with Sato should pay off in the end, but he’s not showing much progress in his game of late. Since moving into the starting five, the net efficiency of Sato isn’t looking much better than he did as a reserve earlier in the season.
