In the midst of back-to-back games on April 9, the Chicago Bulls and first-year head coach Billy Donovan look to continue to climb up the Eastern Conference standings in the stretch run of this regular season slate. Following one of their longest losing streaks of the season through late March and early April, the Bulls have turned it around to become one of the hotter teams in the East of late.

On April 8, the Bulls downed the struggling and injured Toronto Raptors on the road by nearly a double-digit margin to win their third game in a row. Prior to extending their winning streak to three games on April 8, the Bulls had defeated the Indiana Pacers on the road at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on April 6 and knocked off the Brooklyn Nets at home at the United Center on April 4.

None of the triumphs in this Bulls three-game winning streak came by a margin of fewer than eight points. And all of these wins came against teams that are likely to be in the playoffs, or at least in the play-in tournament, this season. That’s a good sign for where this Bulls team could be headed post-trade deadline.

Results finally kicking in for the Chicago Bulls

Back on March 25, the Bulls’ new front office regime was very busy trying to restructure this roster at the trade deadline. They made a number of moves to try and put this team in more of a win-now mode. And while it took a while for those changes to positively impact the Bulls’ success in the win column, they’re starting to shine through this week.

Ahead of their April 9 meeting with the Atlanta Hawks and star point guard Trae Young, the Bulls hold a record of 22-28, still outside of the eighth seed in the standings in the East.

Nonetheless, here’s a look at three Bulls players that are helping this team build the winning streak they sit on this week.
