Chicago Bulls players to watch: Troy Brown Jr.

Another new addition makes the list of players to watch as Troy Brown Jr. is someone that everyone should be keeping an eye on in this one. He was a buy-low trade deadline player and has the chance to make a statement to head coach Billy Donovan in this one.

Brown Jr. has great upside to develop into a three and D wing and has the talent to be effective in that role right now. Consistency will be the key. After a strong debut for Chicago, he could make it two straight with his new team.

He’s already one of the Bulls best perimeter defenders. After playing just 13 minutes against the Spurs he could see much more time tonight defending players like Andrew Wiggins, Kelly Oubre Jr. and even Steph Curry.

Those are high-volume scorers. Brown recently explained what Donovan told him this team needs and made it clear he is up to the challenge. Tonight offers the perfect chance for him to prove he needs to be a big part of the rotation moving forward.

Chicago Bulls players to watch: Daniel Theis

It’s all recent additions to the team in the players to watch. The only player who hasn’t made his debut for the Bulls tops the list and for very good reason.

First and foremost, not everyone understands how good Theis is and how much he is going to help this Bulls group. His strengths are the exact things the Bulls lack and he’s only going to earn more minutes as the season continues.

Keep an eye on him defensively specifically as he is capable of changing the game on that end of the floor. That’s where he often makes high-energy plays that swing momentum and help his team get going.

I’m expecting him to eventually cut into Lauri Markkanen’s minutes pretty significantly. Depending on the flow of the game, that might happen as early as tonight. If Markkanen isn’t rebounding and doesn’t have his shot falling early, Donovan should have a short leash with him and start experimenting with Theis at the four quickly.

Theis knows what he brings and will show Bulls fans how much they are going to love having him on their team in short time. He’s the player that fans must keep an eye on in this one and he could be the game changer the Bulls need to get going.
