Sharpshooter trade deadline targets No. 2: JJ Redick

Another team out of the Western Conference that could see a lot of movement at the trade deadline this week is the New Orleans Pelicans. As they look to continue to build around the likes of star forwards Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans might try and shed some contracts around them ahead of next offseason.

The one trade target that all Bulls fans are likely to want to land on March 25 is the former UCLA Bruin and two-way 6-foot-6 point guard Lonzo Ball. A tremendous talent and an improving player in his own right, Ball would be intriguing to pair alongside star shooting guard Zach LaVine.

However, another trade target that the Bulls could look into from NOLA is the former Duke Blue Devil and veteran shooting guard JJ Redick. As one of the best and most reliable sharpshooters in NBA history, Redick could add a lot to this Bulls backcourt rotation.

Redick is having somewhat of a down season, but it’s only a matter of time before he finds his rhythm as a catch-and-shoot threat from almost anywhere on the offensive end of the floor. Redick is also a capable shot-creator when given the opportunity.

So far this season, Redick has averaged just 8.7 points per game, 1.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.3 steals, and 0.1 blocks. And he shot 40.7 percent from the field, 36.4 percent from beyond the arc, and an insane 95.7 percent from the free-throw line. A career 45 percent shooter from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc, this might be the perfect time for the Bulls to try and snag Redick from the Pelicans.
