While we are still waiting on the play-in games to play out, March Madness is upon us and the festivities of the NCAA Tournament will be a tremendous scouting opportunity for teams like the Chicago Bulls. First-year executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley looked like they got a nice pick in the 2020 NBA Draft without having the scouting opportunity and the bright national spotlight that the NCAA Tournament presents for top prospects coming out of college.

The “Big Dance” returns this year in the midst of the COVID-19, played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN. The home of the Indiana Pacers will also be home to most of the action surrounding March Madness.

How the Chicago Bulls could fit into the draft lottery picture

While the Bulls are looking to keep climbing up the Eastern Conference standings as one of the league’s more improved teams so far this season, they could still find themselves in the draft lottery come next offseason. The Bulls have found themselves as a lottery team in each of the past three drafts, so this wouldn’t be a huge shift for them to land outside of the playoff picture again.

For that reason, the Bulls new front office should be able to use this scouting opportunity in the NCAA Tournament to the best of their ability. Seeing how some of the better draft prospects in this class perform in the national spotlight is a big test that can help NBA scouting departments through this process.

Here’s a look at five 2021 draft prospects in particular for the Bulls to watch in March Madness.
