No. 1: Chicago Bulls could still go in Either Direction at the Trade Deadline and their Upcoming Games Could Decide which they Choose
This game was a bit of a reality check for the team and fans as we inch closer and closer to the NBA trade deadline. It should remind everyone just how big some issues are within this current group, like the frontcourt rotation.
While not selling at the deadline doesn’t mean the Bulls have convinced themselves they are contenders or anything extreme like that, it does mean they’ve valuing a potential playoff spot and will look to make the most of it. What’s the point of doing that if any good team can so easily expose you, though?
If the Bulls want to make the most of this season in terms of wins and losses, there’s no reason to not add some sort of a veteran presence inside just to increase the options Billy Donovan has at his disposal.
With that being said, a rough stretch in the next week or so could convince the front office to sell at the deadline and not worry about fighting for a back-end playoff spot that will lead to a matchup with someone like the 76ers or Brooklyn Nets.
It won’t take many more performances like this for the Bulls to decide no matter what their season goals are, they need to make adjustments to the roster. Either add assets for the big picture or help the current group out by improving the group they currently have.
There certainly going to be tested in their upcoming games. They play tonight against the Miami Heat before matching up with the Toronto Raptors on the 14th. Both teams that could further expose some of the Bulls biggest issues right now.
