Chicago Bulls: 3 veterans that could be signed to a G-League roster
Despite the Chicago Bulls G-League affiliate Windy City Bulls won’t be participating in the bubble season, there’s still scouting opportunities out there.
A ruling that came down in the NBA this holiday season had to be shocking to some. The league ruled that veterans were allowed to sign with the various G-League teams for this season. That means that the Chicago Bulls could see some potential veteran free agent targets take part in G-League action this season.
Although the Chicago Bulls G-League affiliate Windy City Bulls opted out of playing in the 2020-21 season bubble in Atlanta, there can still be other veteran free agent targets to watch for this new front office regime. Since the NBA elected to have veterans play in this G-League season, it’s a good opportunity to get additional scouting out there for newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley.
A few players that Karnisovas and Eversley might’ve looked into during the offseason in the last cycle of free agency could now be participating in the bubble G-League season in Atlanta. That could really bode well for not just the Bulls, but any other team that might not have the deepest rotation around the league’s landscape.
Since the Bulls just tipped off their regular season slate on the night of Dec. 23, in a tough 124-104 loss at home to the Atlanta Hawks, they can start to figure out how this roster should be shaped for the rest of the campaign. The Bulls have largely the same roster construction for the 2020-21 campaign that they did last season.
If they do want to look into the G-League ranks to continue building out this roster in a more proficient fashion this season, here’s a look into a few veterans that could play in the Atlanta bubble that could be signed in the near future.
