An early draft board should be shaping up for Arturas Karnisovas and the Chicago Bulls for the 2021 class, featuring Cade at or near the top.
Heading into the 2020-21 college hoops season, there was both a lot of excitement for what’s to come in the next NBA Draft class and a lot of questions surrounding what this group brings to the table. This is going to be one of the weirder college hoops seasons that ever occurred, as was the end of last season. And that is something that the Chicago Bulls new front office regime is going to have to keep a close eye on.
The good news is that newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley seem to have a clear idea what they’re doing heading into the fourth year of the rebuild.
Karnisovas and the Bulls surprised a good portion of the NBA landscape when they picked the former Florida State Seminoles freshman forward Patrick Williams with the fourth pick in the draft lottery. They also had solid value additions in the second round and the undrafted free agent market with KK Mega Bemax big man Marko Simonovic (44th overall) and former Kansas Jayhawks point guard Devon Dotson.
It is still way too early to tell how the Bulls will do during the 2020-21 season, after an offseason of so many organizational changes from the front office down to the coaching staff. But if the Bulls are within striking distance in next year’s draft lottery to land the first overall pick, that might not be the worst thing in the world for this rebuild.
There appears to be a clear top prospect in next year’s draft class, with the former elite five-star recruit and the Oklahoma State Cowboys freshman superstar point guard Cade Cunningham. Here’s a look into three reasons why the Bulls should tank for Cade this season.
