With a lack of overall changes made to the roster construction for the Chicago Bulls this offeason, there are bound to be familiar faces that disappoint.
The outlook for the Chicago Bulls heading into the 2020-21 preseason, and regular season, does look to be a bit brighter thanks to a number of changes made within the organization. Management shifted the look within the Bulls organization from the front office, all the way down to the coaching staff.
A major question mark, though, is how the Bulls will do given the lack of adjustment to the roster construction heading into the preseason. The Bulls didn’t really make any super notable moves, outside of picking the former Florida State Seminoles freshman forward and reigning ACC Sixth Man of the Year Patrick Williams fourth overall in the 2020 NBA Draft, to help move this roster forward.
Part of that was due to the fact that newly hired executive vice president of basketball operations Arturas Karnisovas and general manager Marc Eversley were very cap strapped this offseason. Since veteran small forward Otto Porter Jr. opted into the final year of his current contract (worth around $29 million), the Bulls had little to no cap space to work with.
It is worth watching what Karnisovas and the Bulls are able to do this season on the trade market to try and position themselves well for the fruitful 2021 free agent class. And the best situation for the Bulls on the trade block is to dish out any of the players that still hold some value but aren’t going to do much to help this roster this season. There’s a few players that come to mind in that regard.
Here’s a look into three Bulls players that are bound to disappoint during the 2020-21 season.
