2) Chicago Bulls grand prize RFA targets: Dario Saric

This player on the list earns his spot not because he’s the most talented player in the world, but because he would be a nice fit with the Bulls. This 26-year-old 6-foot-10 and 225 pound lengthy power forward and former 12th overall pick of the Orlando Magic in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft Dario Saric is about to hit the restricted free agent market this offseason.

The role of Saric somewhat dwindled in his first season with the Suns, during the 2019-20 campaign. At least compared to his last few seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Sixers, Saric saw his minutes on the floor drop a bit. But his efficiency was also up in a few key spots in the season that was.

Saric played in 66 games during the shortened 2019-20 regular season with the Suns (starting in 51 of them). He averaged 10.7 points per game, 6.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.2 blocks. And Saric shot 47.6 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line.

That amounted to a -0.4 box plus/minus rating, .105 win shares per 48 minutes, 0.7 value over replacement player rating, 3.6 total win shares, 59.2 true shooting percentage, and a 114 offensive rating/112 defensive rating. The defensive presence of Saric has a long way to go, but he could finally add that stretch big man presence that the Bulls could use off the bench.

Adding Saric to the mix would give the Bulls a nice insurance policy to fourth-year power forward Lauri Markkanen in the frontcourt rotation.
