3) Chicago Bulls grand prize RFA targets: Bogdan Bogdanovic

If the Bulls do wing up running more of a small ball lineup next season, then they need to reshape the look of their current rotation. Running the likes of shooting guard Zach LaVine at the two and point guard Coby White at the one might not be optimal. They could add someone like the Sacramento Kings shooting guard/wing Bogdan Bogdanovic to play at the two or the three and slot him next to LaVine in the starting five.

Adding Bogdanovic to the mix would give the Bulls a lot more options as to what they could do with the rotation. It would also give them the ability to recover quicker if the health of veteran small forward Otto Porter Jr. doesn’t get any better in the near future. There is a lot of intrigue to getting this type of player to the Windy City.

Bogdanovic is a multi-faceted 28-year-old 6-foot-6 and 220 pound shooting guard/wing that was the 27th overall pick in the first round of the 2014 NBA Draft of the Phoenix Suns. He is a good shooter, solid creator, and an improving defender. In fact, Bogdanovic improved his game steadily in each of his first three years in the NBA.

During the shortened 2019-20 regular season, Bogdanovic played in 61 games (starting in 28 of them). He averaged 15.1 points per game, 3.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.2 blocks. And he shot 44.0 percent from the field, 37.2 percent from beyond the arc, and 74.1 percent from the free-throw line.
