Chicago Bulls: 3 possible Zach LaVine trades with the Knicks
The Bulls could reach a crossroads within the next calendar year if they decide in fact not to part ways with Boylen this offseason. They will wind up capping the ability of this young core to progress to some degree if they don’t improve their coaching situation. But there is a way that the Bulls can get ahead now if they’re planning on keeping Boylen around.
If the Bulls are going to wind up forcing some players out of the Windy City by keeping Boylen around, then why not get ahead of the curve?
All harsh jokes aside, the Bulls would have some interesting options as it pertains to LaVine trade packages with the Knicks and Nets. We can start with a trade package that would involve bringing back a former Bull to the Windy City along with two other potent young players. In this particular trade deal, the Bulls would get veteran power forward Taj Gibson back, along with rookie RJ Barrett and forward Kevin Knox.
There’s a lot that the Bulls could do with Knox if he keeps improving and Barrett had his ups and downs during his rookie season, but would still be a potent fit along with rookie point guard Coby White. The most appealing part of this trade for the Bulls would be getting their hands on a future unprotected first round draft pick from the Knicks.
Getting two young and potent wings like Barrett and Knox helps plug a particular problem area for the Bulls and they get to keep building for the future with a future first round pick. The Knicks get a decent return that could help them win more with LaVine and plug lost depth in second-year small forward Chandler Hutchison.
