Possibly bad news for the Chicago Bulls could be just around the corner this offseason if head coach Jim Boylen returns for another season.

The news that dropped recently that the Chicago Bulls could be keeping current head coach Jim Boylen around heading into the 2020-21 season sparked a lot of negative reaction and energetic conversation this week. It was not anticipated that the Bulls were going to stay this patient with the coaching situation after all of the front office changes they made back during the spring.

At the conclusion of the 2019-20 regular season, which came early thanks to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Bulls sported a record of 22-43. That was a step back after the Bulls came closer to reaching the 30-win mark back during the 2017-18 season (also the first year of the rebuild).

That gave Boylen a total record of 39-84 in his run as the Bulls head coach. He originally took over as head coach in the Windy City directly after the departure of former head coach Fred Hoiberg in December 2018. Boylen was the interim head coach last season, and then received a three-year contract extension to have that tag removed last offseason.

It is expected that if the Bulls decide to officially bring back Boylen next season that the frustration will only continue to boil from this team’s fans. The patience was already dwindling with how long the front office situation dragged out and some other poor moves since the turn of the century for such a big market team with an illustrious history.

Bringing Boylen back next season could very well have some adverse effects on this team.

Here’s a look into the three Bulls players that could want a trade if Boylen returns next season.
