29. John “Red” Kerr

John “Red” Kerr, who is commonly known as Johnny, Big Red and Iron Man, made a bit of a career for himself in the NBA.

Kerr made his debut in the league in October of 1954. He played a bulk of his career with the Syracuse Nationals before heading to the Philadelphia 76ers and Baltimore Bullets.

Among Kerr’s greatest accolades are three All-Star Game nods and one NBA championship title.

During his career, Kerr solidified himself as a big man to be reckoned with. He was active on the glass getting after rebounds. In fact, Kerr ranked among the top 20 in rebounds for nine consecutive seasons.

Kerr wasn’t the type of big man creating a liability for his teammates because of an inability to complete free-throws in the important moments when it matters most. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. Kerr ranked among the top 20 in free-throw percentage for three seasons.

Not to mention Kerr proved to be a rather efficient big man to have on the floor. He ranked among the top 20 in player efficiency rating for six seasons.

Kerr attended Tilden Career Community Academy in Chicago and went on to enroll in college at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Urbana, Illinois. He was born in Chicago.

Kerr has a 2.7% probability of getting inducted into the Hall of Fame.
