3. Matt Lloyd

The rise up the NBA front office ranks happened pretty fast for the Magic assistant general manager Lloyd. He’s served as the assistant general manager for the Magic since prior to the start of the 2012-13 regular season.

The previous position to assistant general manager that Lloyd held was as the Bulls director of college scouting from 2007-2012. He held various roles within the Bulls organization since prior to the turn of the century. When he was the director of college scouting, Lloyd implemented various statistical analyses and databases to go through various college an international draft prospects.

He also took to the forefront with roster management and development as the assistant general manager with the Magic. Lloyd was once named the interim general manager back in 2017, but didn’t keep the role for long. Current Magic general manager John Hammond would take over later that same year.

Lloyd started out as a media coordinator for the Bulls in 1999. He was promoted to the role of scout in 2003, and held that until 2007. His last role with the Bulls prior to becoming the director of college scouting was the senior manager of basketball operations.

A familiar face that could return to the Windy City in the near future, Lloyd is an obvious candidate for the Bulls to keep in mind during the interview process.
