No. 3 Jabari Parker

Jabari Parker is joining a new young core by signing a contract with the Atlanta Hawks in 2019 free agency.

The deal is worth $13 million over two years and is fully guaranteed, so long as he doesn’t choose to exercise his 2020 player option.

The career of the former No. 2 overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft has had its share of ups and downs over the years.

As it’s been widely reported, Parker sustained a pair of knee injuries sidelining him during some of his time with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Parker was looking to start a new chapter last summer when he signed a contract with the Bulls. Things didn’t always pan out according to plan.

While Parker remained relatively healthy last season, he didn’t always give the most effort at the defensive end. The Bulls also learned that he didn’t make the best fit playing at small forward.

Last season was supposed to be a homecoming of sorts for Parker until the Bulls traded him to the Washington Wizards.

Atlanta makes for Parker’s fourth team in six seasons. If he can stay healthy, Parker could be a nice addition to the young core the Hawks are forming.

At age 24, it’s clear that Parker still has a lot of youth on his side.
