Prying the former first round NBA Draft pick and forward Nik Stauskas away from his Euroleague team in Spain Baskonia could be an pretty easy task if the Chicago Bulls convince him this is a good landing spot. The former Michigan Wolverines standout Stauskas took his talents to Spain because he didn’t find much tangible interest in free agency right off the bat.

The Bulls need to add floor spacing and a capable wing off the bench. While Stauskas never found a bona fide home in the NBA, he does have the potential to do both for Boylen and the Bulls. Boylen just wouldn’t be able to expect him to contribute in 25-30 minutes per game off the bench in reliable fashion night in and night out.

Since he entered the NBA back in 2014-15 with the Sacramento Kings, Stauskas turned in a journeyman career. He’s already played for five different NBA teams in a short span of time. Could the Bulls be a good place for him to finally find stability?

More than likely, his role with the team would be spotty. But if he produces like he did last season for the Portland Trail Blazers, at least in the first half of the regular season, he could be a very viable option. He shot better than 37 percent from three-point range last season. Stauskas also has a career 113 defensive rating, so the two-way potential is there.
