An under the radar young point guard that didn’t get signed through the summer month yet, somewhat surprisingly, is the 23-year-old Kentucky Wildcats product Isaiah Briscoe. At the outset of the 2019-20 regular season, Briscoe will still be 23-years-old. He still has a few years left to really round out his game.
There’s a lot to like about what Briscoe brings to the table, and he could be an option for the Chicago Bulls to use their last two-way contract slot on. Briscoe fills a much different role for either the Chicago Bulls or the G-League Windy City Bulls depending on how he feels about developing his game with this organization.
Last season, Briscoe spent his rookie campaign with the Orlando Magic. He played in just 39 games, getting around 14 minutes per game on the floor. That’s not near enough of an opportunity for the potent and offensively capable Briscoe to develop his skill set after a long career with the Kentucky basketball program.
With excellent athleticism and physical tools at 6-foot-3 for a point guard, Briscoe should be a pretty highly sought after commodity on the free agent market. He does have the potential to improve his three-point shooting too, as he managed just 32.4 percent of his tries beyond the arc last season. Signing him to the final two-way contract spot for the Bulls makes sense.
