Lonzo’s old highlights

Coming out of the UCLA Bruins basketball program, Lonzo Ball was the talk of the town entering the 2017 NBA Draft. There was talk that he could be the next answer at point guard for the Lakers. That has yet to pan out. If he has a full healthy season with the Lakers, that narrative could change soon.

However, the idea that Ball could thrive in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest was explored by House of Highlights dating back to his film from his high school basketball days. Ball stated at one point that he wouldn’t compete in the dunk contest in the NBA if he was invited.

You can’t doubt some of the sparks that Lonzo showed during his high school basketball career and with the Bruins. He had the potential to lead UCLA to an NCAA Championship during his one season with the program. But, similar to what he’s doing with the Lakers now, he had trouble fulfilling that promise.

Going back and watching Lonzo’s old basketball highlights brings back some vivid and exciting memories for NBA and college hoops fans. He was an electric and dynamic talent that can make some solid plays running the point. That hasn’t yet carried over to the NBA level the way a lot of people pictured it would.
